With the rise of Decentralized Finance (DeFi) came “yield farming,” a shorthand for using strategies where putting crypto temporarily at the disposal of some startup’s application earns its owner more cryptocurrency. It involves lending out cryptos via DeFi protocols in order to earn fixed or variable interest. The rewards can be far greater than traditional investments, but higher rewards bring higher risks, especially in such a volatile market.

Yearn Machine Learning (YML) introduces a strategy for optimizing profits by taking various parameters into account such as the current Annual Percentage Yield (APY), predicted APY, and risk (which is in turn built up out of numerous features). By training on these parameters using historical data as ground truth, a model is established that is able to predict the optimal yield farming pools.
