Sixty five years after man fought the dead in the War for the Dawn, the heirs of Daenerys Stormborn tentatively cling to power. The North is a broken realm of scattered and disparate men, where descendants of the houses who fought the dead now contend with wildlings and one another, battling for resources in the wake of a long and terrible winter. With an old and senile king perched upon the Iron Throne, good will amongst his subjects is growing sparse and many look to the crown prince for leadership in the days to come.

Another shadow looms over a divided realm, for a pretender has cast watchful eyes on a weakened throne, quietly and subtly rallying support amongst the most disgruntled of lords, his supporters poised to strike when the time is right.
