Born in the ash and crushing pressure of a brutal mining moon, Astrid Velmora led a bloody strike, hijacked a patrol vessel, and fled into the stars. Years later, the SS Euphoria is legendary. To the helpless, Astrid is a savior. To her enemies, she is a ghost who walks through impenetrable fortresses to execute warlords in cold blood.
But the galaxy is vast, chaotic, and dangerous. Beyond the civilized space of the Galactic Council, war-torn empires butcher each other for resources, uncharted "No Man's Lands" harbor primitive worlds, and feral, void-crazed warbands hunt the rim... warbands Astrid trades her traitors to in exchange for black-market archeotech.
